Vatrushki

Ingredients for the recipe for Vatrushki: For the dough:

  • Flour – 450 grams
  • Fresh yeast – 30 grams
  • Milk – 270 ml
  • Sugar – 2 tablespoons
  • Butter – 50 grams
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon

For the filling:

  • Cottage cheese – 500 grams
  • Egg yolks – 4
  • Sugar – 4 tablespoons
  • Butter – 40 grams
  • Sour cream – 2 tablespoons
  • Flour – 1 tablespoon

Recipe for Vatrushki: Dough:

  1. Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm milk and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter, sifted flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well and knead the dough.
  3. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size. Gently punch down the dough with your hands between rises.
  4. Form dough balls, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and let them rise again.

Filling:

  1. Mix the cottage cheese, sour cream, sugar, egg yolks, softened butter, and flour.
  2. Use a glass to make indentations in the center of each dough ball and fill with the cheese mixture.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven, place on a dish, and let cool. Vatrushki are ready!
